We designed 2week of summer camps for students to learn the common problemsolving strategies for both competitions and also working on the previous years of tests for practice. The 2 camps will focus on different topics and use different practice materials. It's best that students can join both camps, but it's also ok to join one of them.Prerequisites: Students have at least completed PreAlgebra; It's better if students have completed or learning Algebra I and Geometry.

This class mainly works on the school and regional level of MathCounts problems.
The American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) 8 is a 25question, 40minute, multiplechoice examination in middle school mathematics designed to promote the development and enhancement of problemsolving skills. The contest is held in November every year and for students in grades 8 and below.
This class is designed to learn the common problemsolving strategies for both competitions and also working on the previous years of competition for practice. By the end of the class, students will have been exposed to hundreds of MathCounts/AMC 8 test questions to help them to succeed.
The focus of this class is on testtaking strategies and critical thinking skills. Most students have the basic knowledge they need to take the competition, so our philosophy is to help students in the other requirements of the competition, namely, accuracy and speed. The testtaking strategies taught in this class will help students not only in the competitions but also in the future for taking other tests inside and outside of school (such as the SAT and ACT).
Prerequisites: Students have completed AGS I or Algebra I. For great achievements in the competitions, students find that AoPS Algebra class helps a lot along with this competition class.
Note: The class materials used for this class are not repeated in 2 years. So students may join this class multiple times in 2 years to refine their competition skills.
