This is the CogAt fundamental training class for Kindergarten-1st grade. The class will build up the fundation and skills for students to take the TAG test in the next school year.
The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) is a multiple-choice test designed to measure a child's academic aptitude. It is used to measure cognitive development among children and is often used to identify gifted children for admissions into gifted and talented programs across the United States.
The goal of this class is to have the young students familiarize with the test format. But a more important goal to set up this class is to improve the cognitive and reasoning abilities by learning the logical and creative thinking behind the materials. The verbal skills and some figure cognitive skills in the CogAt test may take more time to build up, which are the common weak areas for most students.
